Do you have what it takes to be America’s best high school orator?

We think you do. The 2nd National Words That Shook The World High School Public Speaking Competition will bring out your best. By competing, you’ll be challenged to think, research and speak about issues that you believe the nation – and the world – should know about.

It’s simple to enter. Just write and deliver a three-minute speech on “My Message to America.” Videotape the speech and upload here at the Words That Shook The World web site. Once submitted, your speech – along with thousands of others from students just like you – will be judged and preliminary finalists will be announced in October. Quarter and semi finals will be held and the top 10 students will compete in Washington, DC on January 21, 2008. The first place winner will receive a four-year tuition scholarship valued up to $40,000!

Ready for the Challenge?

Start today. What issues do you think are important to the country and why? What’s your opinion on education, politics, the environment, war, or even your community? Only by competing can you let your views be known.

The National High School Public Speaking Competition will help your creative writing and expression skills. By being a part of the contest, you’ll be challenged to assemble the facts and present them in a compelling way.

Afraid of speaking in public? Don’t be. The competition will help you get over the fear of public speaking. You have something to say and we want to hear it. Open up your mouth and your heart and be heard. Only by speaking more will you be comfortable and confident.
